In late 1915 Henry Ford gave his name, presence and financial backing to a much-ridiculed attempt by some pacifist publicists to end the European war by sending a delegation to neutral capitals on a chartered vessel - the "Peace Ship." Several books have been written on the subject but this is the best: serious and yet entertaining, critical and compassionate.
