Yanov, one of the most perceptive and stimulating Russian political writers now resident in the West, here describes and documents the current of neonationalism present in Russia among non-Marxist dissidents and also in some tendencies of the regime. His conclusions regarding the importance of this current for the post-Brezhnev period deserve a careful reading in the West.
