Peace in the Middle East

By David Astor and Valerie Yorke
Transworld (for the World Security Trust), 1978
174 pp.

An elaborate set of proposals for peace settlements, in which the main key to security would be the involvement of the U.S. and U.S.S.R. through guarantees, support of international forces and safeguards, and control of future arms supplies. Informed, instructive, at times perhaps unrealistic, the report directs attention to several questions insufficiently probed by governments.
