International Pressures and Political Change in South Africa

This collection has the effect of facing mirrors throwing images of South Africa and the West-of South African reactions to Western policy and Western responses to South Africa-back and forth. Outsiders who seek to influence the pace and direction of change in South Africa can learn much from this balanced collection of papers by liberal academics, mostly at the University of Natal. Unfortunately, the book lacks a chapter on black reactions to external pressure.
