Arguing the necessity of a "radical redistribution of resources from the modern to the traditional sectors," the authors at the same time recognize the unreality of the prescription. Their analysis of poverty and inequality, which they attribute to an export-oriented economy dominated by foreign capital, is therefore hardly encouraging.
