Rise Up and Walk: An Autobiography

By Bishop Abel T. Muzorewa
Abingdon, 1978
289 pp. $9.95

The Zimbabwean "Internal Settlement" leader's story is particularly noteworthy for its account of the complicated machinations among rival Zimbabwean leaders from the 1974 Victoria Bridge talks until the collapse of the Geneva negotiations in 1976, and of the 1977-78 Internal Settlement negotiations. With its detailed renditions of conversations between the nationalists and with the front-line Presidents, it should be an important primary source-at least for the Bishop's side of the story.
