Trudeau
By George Radwanski
Taplinger, 1978, 372 pp.

A thoughtful and beautifully written appraisal, a model of contemporary political biography. Although Radwanski, an Ottawa journalist, recognizes Trudeau's flaws, he sees him as the best of Canada's postwar Prime Ministers, a man "who cares passionately about one issue-national unity and the survival of an open-spirited, bilingual federalism."
