Perspectives for Change in Communist Societies
Perspectives for Change in Communist Societies
Edited by Teresa Rakowska-Harmstone
Westview Press, 1979, 194 pp.

Separate essays on a number of European communist countries, each with something to say but no common framework and few comparisons. The editor draws an interesting distinction between societies in which the national political culture is congruous with the communist system (U.S.S.R., G.D.R., Bulgaria) and those where there is a basic incongruity (Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary).
