Osthandel und Ostpolitik

By Michael Kreile

Nomos, 1978, 242 pp.

An inquiry into the links between West Germany's Ostpolitik and the FRG's successful drive for greater trade with the East. The book is timely and informative, valuable for its empirical data and its command of sources. The theoretical part-which is intended as a contribution to peace research-is turgid, as so many of these excessively ambitious and abstract discourses in theory tend to be.
