Ibn Sa'ud: Roi Bédouin

By Yves Besson
Éditions des Trois Continents, 1980
284 pp.

More than a biography of Ibn Saud, this is an excellent history of his kingdom up to the conquest of the Hejaz and the achievement of international recognition in the mid-1920s. The author, a Swiss scholar-diplomat, makes good use of material in the British archives, especially important because of Ibn Saud's relations with Britain.
