Jack: The Struggles of John F. Kennedy

Herbert Parmet is a master of the old-fashioned, detailed political history. This large volume, the first of two, carries JFK's career to the beginning of the 1960 presidential campaign. It is based on extensive interviews and thorough use of the unpublished materials in the Kennedy Library. The "struggles" are largely against poor health.
