In 1973 President Nixon abolished the President's Science Advisory Committee, and it has never been restored. This special double issue volume of Technology in Society is a collection of essays on presidential science advising and is aimed at getting the PSAC reestablished. The collection includes pieces by all but two of the past Presidential Science Advisers, as well as contributions by other leading government officials including former President Ford.
