No one in this century exerted more influence over the way intellectuals think about morality and foreign policy than Reinhold Niebuhr, and no Niebuhr disciple has written as much on the subject as Kenneth Thompson. Although most of the material here is familiar, the book is a clear and sophisticated introduction.
