Challenges in the Middle East: Regional Dynamics and Western Security

American and Israeli experts examine Western security problems in the light of recent Soviet gains in the Horn, Afghanistan and elsewhere. The scholarly contributors represent what might be called an interlocking intellectual community in general agreement on the dimensions of the Soviet threat, and on the means of meeting it through American-Israeli cooperation and without undue reliance on unstable Arab states or exaggerated attention to the Palestine problem.
