American National Security: Policy and Process
American National Security: Policy and Process
By Amos A. Jordan and William J. Taylor, Jr.
Johns Hopkins Press, 1981, 604 pp.

This should become a classic text, widely used in universities. Written by two well-known and respected former soldier-scholars at West Point (with the assistance of about 40 "associates"), it does an exemplary job of explaining the process of defining and implementing national security objectives. Hardly any significant subject is omitted from this very rich and readable volume.
