Warriors at Suez: Eisenhower Takes America Into the Middle East
Warriors at Suez: Eisenhower Takes America Into the Middle East
By Donald Neff
Linden Press/Simon and Schuster, 1981, 480 pp

A thoroughly researched and powerfully written account of the many sides of the Suez crisis. Material from the United Nations archives is especially valuable. The portrait of Anthony Eden is devastating, the criticism of France and Israel severe, and the sympathy for Nasser and Egypt considerable. President Eisenhower receives moderately high marks. Perhaps the best book yet written on the subject.
