Political Conflict in Thailand

By David Morrell and Chaianan Samudavanija
Oelgeschlager, 1981
362 pp. $25.00

This collaborative effort between an American and a Thai political scientist is the best book on contemporary Thai politics to appear in recent years. It concludes with guarded optimism that the Thai military will push through the necessary reforms to prevent a revolution. But the authors fear that the "reactionary forces" are still very powerful and may yet succeed in blocking those reforms.
