Saudi Arabia's Development Potential

By Robert E. Looney
Lexington Books, 1982
357 pp. $33.95

The process of informing the West about Saudi Arabia's wealth and how it is being utilized goes inexorably on. The essays edited by Niblock, all done by competent specialists, give us a mixture of history, sociology and international diplomacy, along with the economics. Looney's book is largely a technical analysis of the economy and the prospects for growth, stressing that despite the available billions the realistic options open to Saudi Arabia are surprisingly limited.
