Haig: The General's Progress
Haig: The General's Progress
By Roger Morris
Playboy Press, 1982, 450 pp

This unfriendly biography, completed before the former Secretary of State's resignation, is based on published sources. It portrays a man of limited intellect, moral insensitivity and cold ambition. The larger theme, that Haig's character and career are a paradigm for the failures of American foreign policy, is not convincing.
