This popular survey ascribes the decline of American competitiveness to bad business practices, poor government policies and astute foreigners. It prescribes better business strategy, keeping management's eye on global market shares, repealing antitrust laws and undoing some other government measures (including those of the early Reagan years). One is not entirely persuaded that this will suffice.
