The Iranian Revolution and the Islamic Republic: Conference Proceedings

Edited by Nikki R. Keddie and Eric J. Hooglund

Middle East Institute, 1982, 210 pp.

The verbatim record of a conference of experts held in May 1982 at the Woodrow Wilson International Center in Washington constitutes a timely assessment (not without disagreements) of the state of affairs in Iran and of Iran's international position, particularly in relation to the two superpowers. Not an integrated and finished book, but very useful background material for all concerned with Iran's future.
