Allies in a Turbulent World
Allies in a Turbulent World
Edited by Frans A.M. Alting von Geusau
Lexington Books, 1983, 174 pp

Diagnoses and prescriptions concerning the Atlantic Alliance are overabundant, but this collection, based on an initial conference in November 1981, is often deep and comprehensive. A group of experts analyze the specific political, economic and cultural issues and the generally unfavorable trends that threaten to divide us ever more. As the Dutch editor notes: "At stake is the survival itself of the North Atlantic Alliance." The contributions from the editor, from William Diebold, Jr. and from Pierre Hassner are particularly valuable.
