Self-Determination in the Middle East
Self-Determination in the Middle East
By Yosef Gotlieb
Praeger, 1982, 178 pp.

A thumbnail history of the Middle East since World War I intended to make a point: that the elites in control of the Arab states continue to deny self-determination to Kurds, Armenians and a host of other nationalities, and that they use the Palestinian cause and opposition to Israel primarily as a means of maintaining that position. Much of what the book says is sound, much is not; it is more a tract than an objective study.
