Beyond Containment: Alternative American Policies Toward the Soviet Union
Beyond Containment: Alternative American Policies Toward the Soviet Union
Edited by Aaron Wildavsky
Institute for Contemporary Studies, 1983, 265 pp

Several authors in separate essays identify and advocate variations on the policy of containment: selective, moderate, extended, dynamic, etc. Mr. Wildavsky prefers "maximal" containment which is global in scope and includes measures to bring about "pluralization" within the Soviet Union as a means of "weakening its aggressive intent."
