Mr. Sorensen shares the widespread view that the federal government in its present form is unable to solve the domestic or international problems facing the United States. His solution is a four-year suspension of party politics and a coalition government along the lines of the British wartime government under Winston Churchill. Woodrow Wilson, 65 years ago, dreamed of overcoming partisan opposition to American membership in the League of Nations by importing the British parliamentary system. It seems likely that Mr. Sorensen's proposal, admirable in its purpose, will share the fate of Wilson's dream.
