Industrial Crisis

Edited by Kenneth Dyson and Stephen Wilks
St. Martin's, 1983
283 pp. $32.50

The main strength of this book lies in the first two chapters where the editors thoughtfully and systematically lay out basic questions about how democratic governments handle major difficulties affecting firms or sectors of their economies. Separate chapters on Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden and the United States vary a good bit in the quality of their analysis but provide good summaries of the industrial policy measures of the respective countries.
