President Reagan's call for space-based ballistic missile defense, and the development of anti-satellite weapons, is forcing renewed and urgent attention to the military dimension of space. In general, they support the Administration's plans for space, but not uncritically, pointing out that military systems in space are vulnerable and that space cannot be considered a safe sanctuary.
