Representing America: Experiences of U.S. Diplomats at the UN

Oral history interviews with 32 people who held assignments at the U.N. either as permanent representative (ambassador) or in other capacities. Although no secrets are revealed, the collection is interesting for what it says about American policy toward and in the U.N. Among those represented are Averell Harriman, Philip Jessup, Arthur Goldberg, George Bush, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Andrew Young, and Jeane Kirkpatrick.
