The Arab Gulf and the West
The Arab Gulf and the West
Edited by B. R. Pridham
St. Martin's, 1985, 251 pp

Brief, thoughtful, readable papers from a conference held at the University of Exeter in 1984. They look at the relations of the West with the Gulf countries (Saudi Arabia and the smaller Gulf states, for the most part leaving aside Iraq and Iran) from various angles. In some of the most interesting essays European, American and Arab authors discuss differing European and American approaches to the Gulf and its problems.
