Goering, the "Iron Man"

Goering, the "Iron Man"

By R. J. Overy

Routledge & Kegan Paul, 1984, 310 pp.

A British scholar concentrates on Goering's role in the Nazi regime, his early successes and great later failures. Overy has done some archival research and he is rightly restrained about the sensational aspects of this wretched rise. He is knowledgeable about Goering's Luftwaffe and air war in general, but sketchy on the history of the regime. An uneven, readable book.
