The United States and the Regional Organization of Asia and the Pacific, 1965-1985

Professor Rostow's consideration of Asian regionalism is notable for several reasons. First, it is a rare and largely successful effort to bring together both the economic and the geopolitical perspective. Other books are more narrowly restricted. Second, it deals with both South and Southeast Asia. Finally, there are some thoughtful ideas on the importance of this entire region for American security interests.
