Argentina: Illusions and Realities

A very fine account of Argentina during the last 40 years, with some historical background in addition. The author walks the wavering line between pessimism and optimism that is particularly hard to identify in that interesting and baffling country, and presents effectively the patterns of social and personality traits that found volatile expression in Peronism and in the regimes that succeeded it.
