A Time Of Change: A Reporter's Tale Of Our Time
A Time Of Change: A Reporter's Tale Of Our Time
By Harrison E. Salisbury
Bessie/Harper & Row, 1988, 352 pp

This second volume of the author's personal memoirs covers the years 1954 to the present. There is marvelous, zestful material on China, Russia, Vietnam, and the subject of being a reporter for The New York Times. Mr. Salisbury admires Lincoln Steffens and he works in the tradition of that great reporter: honest, witty, irreverent, bold, industrious. Wonderful reading.
