America's New Economy: The Basic Guide
America's New Economy: The Basic Guide
By Robert Hamrin
Franklin Watts, 1988, 484 pp

To claim to present "the major facts needed to understand the American economy of the present and future" is to blow up a balloon that reviewers must try to burst. Although he sometimes does not get far below the surface, Hamrin manages to be quite engaging as he sets out a large number of basic facts about various aspects of the economy. His strong suit, though, is in interpreting, especially when he can also debunk. His point of view is that of a liberal Democrat whose target is frequently Reaganomics and its claims.
