Nicaragua's Continuing Struggle
Nicaragua's Continuing Struggle
By Arturo J. Cruz
Freedom House, 1988, 58 pp

Nicaragua's exiled opposition figure reveals his own continuing ambivalence as he recounts his ultimately unsuccessful attempt to negotiate the conditions under which the major opposition parties might have participated in Nicaragua's 1984 election. Neither the opposition nor the Sandinistas fare particularly well in Cruz's memoir, but the degree of distrust generated by Nicaragua's civil war is amply illustrated.
