Zambia: Between Two Worlds
Zambia: Between Two Worlds
By Marcia M. Burdette
Westview Press, 1988, 210 pp.

In this appealing and accessible case study, the author offers a fully rounded picture of Zambia's course since independence, chronicling the periods of boom and decline after the fall in the price of copper around the mid-1970s. She advocates an internally oriented economic strategy to retain industries and livelihoods, but is not very optimistic about the ability of the current leadership to achieve it.
