Rethinking Nuclear Strategy

By Stephen J. Cimbala

Scholarly Resources, 1988, 278 pp.

These two books by a prolific strategist, primarily for specialists, are both wide-ranging discussions of a variety of nuclear issues. The first volume is especially intriguing: it criticizes nuclear strategy as too abstract, too dominated by economics. The critique carries the author into psychology and Sovietology, perhaps not far enough into national institutions and politics.
