The Impact Of The Six-Day War: A Twenty-Year Assessment
Edited by Stephen J. Roth

Eighteen essays on how the war of 1967, as a watershed event, affected Israel and various regional and international aspects of the Arab-Israeli problem. With only two Arab contributors (one Israeli Arab and one East Jerusalem journalist) the volume is definitely Israel-centered. It is no surprise that most of the attention is concentrated on the issue of the occupied territories. Although a few of the essays are outstanding, most of them do little more than summarize the developments of the 20 intervening years, and the question of what was or was not a result of the war is often impossible to answer.
