Diplomatie Islamique: Stratégie Internationale Du Khomeynisme

By Mohammad-Reza Djalili

It would be difficult to find a better analytical study of Iranian foreign policy over the decade of the Khomeini regime. It contains a balanced appreciation both of the central place of a universal and uncompromising ideology in the motivation of the clerical elite and of the pragmatism dictated by the facts of geography, economics and national interest. Against this background the book gives excellent brief presentations of Iran's policy toward the great powers, other Islamic states and the existing international order.
