The Pragmatic Entente: Israeli-Iranian Relations, 1948-1988

Iran and Israel are an odd couple, but both found good reasons to cooperate in the time of the late shah and also, in a more limited way, in that of the Islamic Republic. This is a journeyman monograph, better on the earlier than the later period. The author had no access to primary documents on the two sides, but he has made good use of interviews and has found many items of interest in the documents stolen by student militants from the U.S. embassy in Tehran and later published.
