The dust jacket tells us that "there are many books about the future: only Reinventing the Future takes you there." But even well-written summaries of international conferences with distinguished participants, as is the case here, don't do that. The issues addressed include North-South economic development, East-West relations, environmental degradation and ethics. They are too complex, too numerous when looked at in detail, and require too much hard thought to be satisfactorily dealt with in the brief manner employed here.
