The International Politics Of Agricultural Trade: Canadian-American Relations In A Global Agricultural Context

By Theodore H. Cohn

University of British Columbia Press, 1990, 280 pp.

This very useful book fills a gap by analyzing in reasonable detail the place of agricultural issues in Canadian-American relations over the last few decades. In addition to good accounts of the way bilateral trade has been snarled by domestic farm policies and protectionism, Cohn pays much attention to global wheat exports and the way in which trouble between the two countries during some periods has contrasted with surprising mutual accommodation during others.
