Eastern Europe In The World Economy

By László Csaba
Akademiai Kiado, 1990
403 pp.

It remains to be seen whether a close examination of some major aspects of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance is entirely a matter of history, or may include points that will be relevant to the adjustment of economic relations among the countries of eastern Europe and the U.S.S.R. Either way, this enlarged and revised version of an older Hungarian study has much to recommend it. There is a large bibliography and a useful statistical appendix.
