Journeying Far and Wide: A Political and Diplomatic Memoir
Journeying Far and Wide: A Political and Diplomatic Memoir
By Philip M. Kaiser
Charles Scribner's Sons, 1993, 352 pp.

Kaiser's title is apt, for his warm-hearted memoir ranges from his Brooklyn childhood, through his education at the University of Wisconsin and Oxford, to diplomatic posts in Europe and Africa, with lots of advice to Democratic administrations along the way. Through all, he has remained a cheerful Wilsonian, confident of America's democratic example and a rooter for America's international engagement.
