Assassins of Memory: Essays on the Denial of the Holocaust
Assassins of Memory: Essays on the Denial of the Holocaust
By Pierre Vidal- Naquet with Jeffrey Mehlman
Columbia University Press, 1993, 205 pp.

A collection of spirited essays from the 1980s, exposing the falsehoods of "revisionists," especially French revisionists, who deny the existence of the gas chambers. The author, a well-known French historian of ancient Greece, writes a polemic against falsifiers whom he thinks unworthy of rebuttal; a passionate, pessimistic book, useful at a time when receding memory may favor denial.
