Recovery Through Revolution

By Samuel Schmalhausen
Covici-Friede, 1933
504 pp. $3.75

The general aim of this uneven collection of articles is to give an account of the progress which revolutionary ideas -- political, economic and social -- have made recently in various countries and under different conditions, and to point out the lessons which that experience holds for the future. The thread supposedly connecting the articles does not seem always to have been made clear to the various authors. The viewpoint of the editor is indicated by the envoie on the last page of the book, a quotation from John Strachey: "The capitalist system is dying and cannot be revived."
