The White Armies of Russia
The White Armies of Russia
By George Stewart
Macmillan, 1933, 482 pp

This book meets the definite lack of any comprehensive account of the different fronts on which the White armies fought the Bolsheviks. It purposely omits all account of what was going on beyond the White front. The narrative is swift, and in parts confused. Despite a personal sympathy for the subjects of his story, the author makes plain their lack of a clear program and the absence even of real hope among the leaders.
