A Dutch researcher has produced a study that is of particular importance now that Israel and the PLO are negotiating the terms of a peace settlement. Concentrating on the period from the October war up until the Palestinian intifada, the author surveys practically everything that has been written or said about the Palestinian question. As a result, this is more of a resource book than a coherent political narrative, but as such it has the virtues of comprehensiveness and precision. If you wonder what any of your favorite pundits used to say about the Palestinians, turn to the index and you will be sure to find multiple references. A useful study.
