One cannot study war seriously without maps, for which this site is a valuable resource. The coverage is primarily American but not entirely so: there are sections on the Chinese Civil War and the Arab-Israeli conflict as well as the Falklands War. The coverage is particularly thorough for the U.S. Civil War and the two world wars, but recent additions include maps of the Persian Gulf War and Somalia. Files are large and take some time to download, but they are worth the time -- particularly if you do not already own West Point's map volumes in hard copy.
