The dramatic March 2004 testimony of Clarke and Rice's robust response probably prompted the quick publication of the staff reports from the 9/11 Commission along with excerpts from the testimony of key witnesses and the report of the House-Senate Joint Inquiry on September 11. This is a handy compilation of valuable materials. Because the work of the commission was not yet complete, however, this book does not include some important more recent staff reports on the September 11 plot itself and the rather chaotic response to the unfolding tragedy.
